Fillings are an excellent treatment option for anything from repairing a chip to filling in a dental cavity. There are a range of options for restorative procedures (fillings) including tooth coloured composite resin, glass ionomer cement and dental amalgam, if indicated.

Porcelain Fillings

With recent advancements in cosmetic dentistry, fillings have also become unnoticeable, and much less hassle for you. We use porcelain fillings that look good and are set on placement so you don’t have to wait before you can chew with them. Getting a filling is no longer a lengthy ordeal – we can have you looking great and pain free in no time at all.

If you need a filling in a broken or decayed tooth, we’ll fill it with a white resin filling material that is seamlessly bonded to the existing tooth, and colour matched so that it can’t be seen at all.

Replacing Exposed, Worn, Yellow Dentine from the Tips of the Lower Incisors

As your teeth wear, the enamel is lost and the inner core of the tooth, called the dentine, is exposed. The dentine is yellow and turns orange and then browner with age, and we can cover this discoloration with tooth-coloured filling material, which also opens up the bite. We can also drill out the central core of this dentine and replace it with white enamel. Recoloring the dentine makes the teeth look intact, younger, and healthy, giving you a protective capping of harder, more durable material.

   

Instant Orthodontics

For isolated crooked teeth such as a twisted incisor, we can often create the appearance of a straight tooth without any orthodontic treatment, just by adding to or subtracting from the enamel, which can be done in just one appointment, with instant results.

Stain Removal

Stains can build up around old fillings, and sometimes the filling itself becomes discoloured and stained. We replace old stained fillings with new invisible ones, and remove all types of external stains, using effective rubber polishes.

Repair of Toothbrush Abrasion

At sensitive points in the mouth, you may get stained notches at the gum line caused from regular tooth brushing. These notches can be covered with natural tooth color restoration.

Porcelain Inlays and Onlays

We can customise a white, very strong filling that restores the biting surfaces and contact points in teeth at the back of the mouth (premolars and molars). Similar to a crown, this treatment is gentler to your tooth structure, embracing the modern day philosophy of ‘minimal intervention’. The filling is made from a model of your tooth using precision machinery, so that you can chew properly with the final tooth shape.
